When you first start out with a new business, you don’t want to go wild with advertising to begin with. What if you need that money later on and that is what causes your business to fall to pieces and go into arrears? No one wants their business to fail, so it is best that you play it safe to begin with. However, that does not mean that you should do no advertising at all; that is the other extreme. You should do advertising such as putting out signs, but that does not mean it has to cost a fortune. Here are some easy ideas to make cheap signs.

Use Scraps You Find Around

If you want a big standing sign, you don’t need to buy it off some dealer who will rip you off; you can make one yourself with things you probably have lying around the house! If you’ve recently had renovations done to your house, you may still have bricks and old pieces of wood lying around outside. Even if you have an old door you no longer need to use, this can go a long way to making a sign. All you need to do is cut what piece of wood you have down to size and then paint it or wallpaper it to make it look like a professional cheap sign. This takes little or no effort and you can use some of your bricks to hold it up and it will look quirky. Even if you don’t have these lying around the house, chances are someone in your family or friend circle will and if all else fails, head to the scrap heap!

Cardboard Signs

You can get cardboard boxes for really cheap in most supermarkets around; in fact, they’re usually free as the supermarkets don’t want them lying around after deliveries! These can easily be taken apart and painted in order to make decent enough looking signs that will attract attention from all over the town. You can even attach more cardboard to it to make it stand up. The best thing about cardboard is that there is an abundance of it so your sign can be as big as you like or as big as fits where you want to put it!

Design the Sign Yourself

You don’t need to hire some professional to make your sign for you- just get all the paint and markers yourself! Even if you don’t have an eye for art, you can still make a decent enough sign with a handy dandy logo. Some of the most famous logos in the world are the most simple ones. Really, all you need is big words that strike you as you go by in what colour they are an in what they are saying. You definitely don’t need an art degree to be able to do something like that!

So, you needn’t break the bank when you want to use a sign for advertising- all you need to do is follow these easy cost saving tips and you will be on your way to being a business star!
